Firstly to all our new members welcome to the faith based football leagues summer league competition sponsored and in association with the Luton and Beds Fire and Rescue service.

Big welcome to Islamic centre, Premier and Lamp FC who are all new members to this competition as all the old members who are aware the culmination of this league is in April 2009 when 18 fortunate members will be chosen to play in the 2nd Community Cup competition at Kenilworth Road against a representative team from the Fire Service. This year’s event was an outstanding success.

The Faith Based Football League has begun again but its not too late to register. To enter a team in the league click here.

Our association with the Fire service is also an important one as the main objective is to send out safe fire and road safety messages to all our members so if you have time click onto our fire safety questionnaire to see if you can gain more marks for your team.

Ok down to business, this summer league will run for approximately 7 weeks culminating in a playoff week where the top 8 teams will be invited to participate. All teams will play each other twice in a league format then the top 8 will be invited back to compete in the finals week to establish the summer league winners of 2008. Please click here to find out results from week one and up and coming fixtures each team is guaranteed 3 games per night dependent on time up to 8 minutes per game.

Please note as part of our ongoing efforts to sustain the league we will be requesting teams to make a contribution of £5 every week to buy medals and cover administration costs please pay on participation days please.

Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service

A message from the area commander..

“Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service are delighted to be able to sponsor this football tournament and the wider ambition of the project that is to encourage much greater participation in sport across the whole range of faiths that we enjoy in Luton.

As a Fire and Rescue Service we have a responsibility to attend emergency incidents whenever the public call for us; further to this we have an equally important role to educate the public to be safe from the dangers of fire in the home, to prevent fire in business premises and of course to ensure people stay safe on our roads.

Please enjoy the tournament and the coaching and training…but please also take advantage of the free home fire safety check and smoke detectors that the Fire and Rescue Service can offer, the free phone number is on this web site and please, stay safe on our roads, watch your speed and always…wear your seat belts.

Thank you, and may the best team win!”
