Welcome to Faith Based Football League

Autumn 2009 Winners

The winners of the Autumn 2009 League

Firstly to all our new members welcome to the faith based football leagues Winter league competition sponsored and in association with the Luton and Beds Fire and Rescue service.

Big welcome to all our new members for this competition as all the old members are aware the culmination of this league is in April/May 2010 when 18 fortunate members will be chosen to play in the 3rd Community Cup competition at Kenilworth Road against a representative team from the Fire Service this year’s event was an outstanding success LUFC have now guaranteed themselves 5 places.

Our association with the Fire service is also an important one as the main objective is to send out safe fire and road safety messages to all our members so if you have time click onto our fire safety questionnaire to see if you can gain more marks for your team www.faithbasedfootballleague.co.uk to check all results

Ok down to business this Winter league will run for approximately 11 weeks culminating in a playoff week where the top 8 teams will be invited to participate, all teams will play each other twice in a league format then the top 8 will be invited back to compete in the finals week to establish the Winter league winners of 2010 games will be 16 minutes straight through. This league is all about fairplay and mutual understanding I hope all members can adhere to these fundamental principles play hard but play fair! I hope you have an enjoyable competition and may the best team win!

Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service

A message from the area commander..

“Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service are delighted to be able to sponsor this football tournament and the wider ambition of the project that is to encourage much greater participation in sport across the whole range of faiths that we enjoy in Luton.

As a Fire and Rescue Service we have a responsibility to attend emergency incidents whenever the public call for us; further to this we have an equally important role to educate the public to be safe from the dangers of fire in the home, to prevent fire in business premises and of course to ensure people stay safe on our roads.

Please enjoy the tournament and the coaching and training…but please also take advantage of the free home fire safety check and smoke detectors that the Fire and Rescue Service can offer, the free phone number is on this web site and please, stay safe on our roads, watch your speed and always…wear your seat belts.

Thank you, and may the best team win!”
